This floor lamp simulates plant’s growth processes and nastic movement behaviours such as photonasty; the opening of the petals of a flower in response to the availability of light, and nyctinasty; the closing of petals during dusk, for self defence as well as to conserve their resources. The lamp opens and closes using an umbrella like contraption.
